CT-FFR in predicting future cardiovascular events

چکیده

Abstract Background Computational fluid dynamics offer a non-invasive way for functional assessment of coronary stenosis in CT-FFR. Currently, minimal FFR thresholds used determining ischemia were established invasive angiography. It remains unknown whether absolute CT-FFR values are the most adequate tool predicting future cardiovascular events. Methods This analysis enrolled 605 767 consecutive patients with suspected CAD undergoing CCTA from 2005 to 2007. Of 161 (21%) excluded, image artifacts common cause (97), followed by software error (43) and chronic total occlusion (15). was measured using an on-site prototype (cFFR Version 3.0, Siemens Healthineers, Forchheim, Germany) experienced observer. at proximal distal end each segment maximum drop (ΔFFR) over one recorded, respectively. Follow up data included major events (non-fatal stroke, non-fatal myocardial infarction, death) revascularization (PCI or CABG). Results study (60±11 years, 61.2% men) 0.81±0.14. Mean ΔFFR 0.13±0.11. MACE occurred 24 (4.0%) cases, 66 (10.9%) during median follow 2823 days (7–8 years). The area under Receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curve 0.887 0.608 up. AUC combined point 0.806. Conclusion Maximum is good predictor but less useful MACE. underlines current use guiding treatment decisions. Funding Acknowledgement Type funding sources: None.

Obesity, risk factors, and predicting cardiovascular events.

APubMed search in March 2005 with the key word “metabolic syndrome” yielded 10 000 references. Past labels for this disorder include “syndrome X,” “deadly quartet,” and “cardiovascular dysmetabolic syndrome.”1–3 What is driving the current increased interest in the metabolic syndrome? Possibly the impetus comes from the dramatic increases in obesity in the United States and other developed coun...
